Early Intervention Resources
Below is a list of useful resources and links for early intervention services in Louisiana.
Louisiana EarlySteps
EarlySteps is Louisiana's early intervention program for infants and toddlers under three years of age with developmental delays, or who have conditions associated with developmental delays. The EarlySteps Provider Guide describes the enrollment process and roles and responsibilities of providers.
Louisiana Service Provider Matrix
All Louisiana EarlySteps providers have a "matrix page" where they list their availability for accepting new clients, what type of services they provide, and the parishes/zip codes they work in. Providers also include a brief description of themselves, and typically include any specializations and certifications. Since choosing providers is "parent's choice," parents and caregivers review active matrix pages to select the provider they want to provide services to their child. The Provider Matrix is available for public view.
Louisiana Medicaid
The website for Louisiana Medicaid contains information such as portal enrollment, claim information, and claim remittances. Many therapists use the Louisiana Medicaid website to verify a child's Medicaid status and obtain accurate demographics for claim information. Rarely is this site necessary for Leaps & Bounds therapists as we manage all claim information and claim remittances for you.
FaceBook Group for Louisiana Early Intervention
Look here for early intervention tips, experiences and ideas! The Louisiana Early Intervention FaceBook Group consists of >500 early intervention providers from all regions of Louisiana, where they share ideas and stay informed of current EI practices and relevant events! Members post questions, ideas, resources, continuing education, and strategies, etc. that are related to infants and toddlers.
CDC Developmental Milestones
The Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) provides current milestones and parent tips for infants, toddlers, and children. This webpage is a great resource for parents, caregivers, and therapists.
